Our jumping paddock is a veritable ‘play ground’ for National Hunt Horses! We have four steeplechase fences, including an ‘open ditch’, four flights of regulation hurdles, four brush hurdles and two lines of tyres of varying height to introduce the horses to jumping outside. The schooling ground is adjacent to the gallop, so that the horses can canter back down when schooling again, to save unneccessary ‘wear and tear’ of the grass. We move the hurdles and fences three or four times a season to get onto ‘new’ ground.
