He was sold by exactly the same vendors and for the identical price that I bought De Soto through this same ring a fair few years ago! Let's hope that lightning can strike twice! His sire, Royal Anthem won four Group One races upto 1m4f and his dam won a bumper, has bred a listed placed horse and is herself a half-sister to Kristenson, who won the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot. It looks a tough, staying pedigree and that is exactly what this gelding looks too. He should make his debut in a bumper in 10 weeks’ time.

I bought this horse at the Brightwells Cheltenham Sale on December 9, where he was Lot 48 and made £20,000 + VAT. He is a most athletic 3yo gelding who breezed very well, but without being hard-pushed. He looks the type to run in a bumper in about two weeks’ time.

Blandford Bloodstock bought this filly on my behalf for 16,000gns at the Tattersalls December Sale on November 27, where she was catalogued as Lot 1757. She was trained by Roger Charlton, who has always been a good trainer to buy from, as his horses are very well cared for, never rushed or over-trained. We bought Sarando from Roger and others have bought the likes of Pridwell and Tuichev over the years.
Deceptive was bred and raced by Her Majesty The Queen and won a 1m4f handicap at Kempton on October 5 by 7l. She has a BHB rating of 70 and is such a fine big filly that you would expect continued improvement as a 4yo. She has a lovely action and all the lads like the way she canters. Her second dam, Flight of Fancy was placed in the Oaks and her third dam, Phantom Gold, won two Group 2 races at 1m4f and more.
I think this filly would benefit from a month’s holiday to relax and strengthen. She looks an ideal dual-purpose sort to run on the Flat but then has all the scope needed to go jumping. Indeed, we put her in the loose jumping lane last week and she looks very natural already!
WE hope that this site will give you plenty of information about Paul Webber Racing at Cropredy Lawn in Mollington, our horses, staff and all that we are up to, within reason!
Although Steve Smith of Wilderspin Marketing has done a fantastic job in launching this new site, we are fully aware that there is much more to be done and you will see more updates and detail over the coming months.
Sadly all these wonderful technological advances still require the input from a human and this trainer is still getting himself into the habit of regularily feeding this voracious beast with lots of tasty updates!
Thank you for taking a look at us and if you would like to visit Cropredy Lawn and could be interested in ownership opportunities, please contact us at any time.
